Slab leaks are leaks from pipes that lead to a property's foundation, or slab, to fracture. There are a couple of primary causes of this sort of pipe leak. The 1st is from corrosion. Different types of pipes corrode at different rates and in diverse ways. For example, hot water lines that come into contact with dirt will commonly corrode from the outside in, although cold water lines will typically corrode from the interior, out and metal electric lines could corrode due, not to water and soil contact, but as a result of electrolysis. Corrosion may result in cracks in pipes which lead to leakages. In addition, pipes can spring leaks due to abrasion. When water travels through pipes the constant vibration, contraction, and expansion against rocks, dirt, or other pipes can result in grating on the pipe before it leaks.
